Experience swimming with orcas in the Norwegian fjords, in Northern Norway, up close with wild orcas in their natural habitat.

When to swim with orcas in Norway?

The season for swimming with orcas in the Norwegian fjords takes place from October to January, when orcas and whales follow the herring in Northern Norway. Each day at sea is unique and depends on natural conditions.

What to expect during the trip

A safe and respectful adventure in the heart of the Arctic fjords.

Before departure

Accompanied by a captain and two passionate guides, your trip begins at 8:00 AM at the Oksfjordhamn marina (free transfer available from Storslett or Sørkjosen).

Over a hot drink:

  • Equipment fitting

  • In-water training session (on your first day)

Requirements:

  • From 16 years old (minor accompanied by a legal guardian)

  • Good physical condition

  • To know how to swim and be comfortable in the water.

All technical equipment is provided to ensure your comfort and safety in Arctic waters.

  • 10 mm wetsuit

  • Gloves 5 mm

  • 7 mm boots

  • Fins, mask, snorkel, belt, and weights

  • High-visibility signaling hood

  • Navigation glasses

  • Life jacket

  • Insulated and waterproof coat

What you need to bring
  • Swimsuit

  • Bath towel

  • Warm and waterproof gloves

We recommend

  • Wear 100 % wool socks inside your boots

  • To bring a waterproof bag to keep your personal belongings dry
